KEY INFORMATION_
CRAFTING THE CHALLENGING LEARNING JOURNEY _
Kashida encountered a significant challenge with LEA’s initial use of PowerPoint presentations that lacked organization and coherence in their in-person training sessions. Moreover, the absence of an Export Plan template, a crucial element of the program, significantly weakened the content, leaving it lacking in structure and comprehensive guidance. Kashida’s task was to transform the material into easily digestible content suitable for in-person, hybrid, and self-paced learning modalities. Additionally, introducing the novel platform to SMEs, explaining its functionality, and highlighting its integration into their training processes presented another layer of complexity.
PIONEERING SOLUTIONS FOR EXPORT READINESS _
To address the challenges, Kashida collaborated with SMEs to develop nine practical and hands-on courses. These courses aimed to guide Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), cooperatives and social enterprises in Lebanon in becoming export-ready and meeting international demand. A pivotal addition was the creation of an Export Plan tool, allowing learners to incrementally fill it in after each course. Leveraging the Open EdX eLearning management system, Kashida ensured the courses were adaptable to diverse learning modalities. The incorporation of videos featuring renowned Lebanese experts and trainers provided real-world insights and simplified complex information. Workshops were conducted individually for the nine SMEs, offering guidance on platform usage and integration into in-person or hybrid training sessions.
UNVEILING CONCLUSIVE RESULTS _
In 2022, our efforts yielded significant engagement, with a total of 71 start-ups, agri-food MSMEs, and agricultural cooperatives receiving training. Notably, 62% of these ventures were led by women. The high satisfaction level of 91% among participants speaks volumes about the quality and effectiveness of the learning experience as a whole. Our collaboration has yielded promising results, showcasing an evolution from traditional face-to-face training to dynamic digital experiences. Offering synchronous and asynchronous courses, the platform caters to in-person, hybrid, and self-paced training, embodying a flexible and accessible learning environment. The incorporation of hands-on learning tools ensures the practical application of acquired knowledge. LEA’s triumphant transition from traditional training approaches to an innovative digital realm becomes increasingly evident.
