MÉDECINS SANS FRONTIÈRES

KEY INFORMATION_
RAPID RESPONSE TO A CRISIS_
MSF knew they needed to respond to the Covid19 pandemic quickly – but a major part of that response is ensuring their teams are equipped with the knowledge and skills to safely deliver support. Prior to our involvement, they were providing training materials to people via SharePoint, an approach that made it very difficult for MSF to ensure target learners were accessing the information and understanding it.
This rudimentary delivery method meant that not only were learners struggling to find key information, the team at MSF were not able to quickly amend and edit training materials as new information came to light about Covid. So, we got to work. And in record time too.
“Kashida is experienced in providing high quality e-learning services including Learning Experience Design, Digital Content design and production, and EdTech services . We developed with them an English-Arabic elearning course focused on Infection and Prevention Control measures during the COVID19 pandemic. Our experience with them was great: they’re punctual, creative and reliable. Kashida is capable of delivering high quality content during a short time, and also were always available to exchange with us after the delivery of the project itself.”
BRINGING STATIC LEARNING TO LIFE_
Whilst rapid delivery and development was critical, we still wanted to ensure that we effectively met MSF’s needs through a quick discovery phase, led by a design thinking approach. From there we swiftly identified that the SharePoint delivery method was causing major issues for the organisation, whilst a lack of access to high quality face-to-face training due to lockdowns meant staff were just supplied with reading materials. It wasn’t a user-centric experience and worried the MSF team that they weren’t providing their people with the knowledge they needed to keep themselves and others safe.
In order to accommodate the tight timeframe, existing assets were used from MSF such as animations, and edited to suit the bespoke elearning course we built. And instead of using the difficult to navigate SharePoint, we also build them a learning management system using Open EdX so the MSF team could seamlessly deliver their elearning, and go in and edit it seamlessly as and when required.
HIGH PRIORITY, HIGH PERFORMANCE_
Our human-centred approach to learning design means that we always put the learner first in everything we do. We dramatically shifted how MSF was delivering critical Covid-19 training, ensuring they could pivot and react to changes in a much easier way. We transformed their static training into infographics, interactive activities and videos across both Arabic and English and built a platform for simpler delivery. All within 4 weeks.
And as a result, the impact has been notable. Not only are MSF delighted with their transition to digital learning delivery, they also have increased their learner numbers from 883 to 4,535 in just three months, and saw an average completion rate of 57% across both the English and Arabic modules.
